Premiere for Alukin at Boot Düsseldorf
Nimbus Group's brand Alukin aluminium boats will be shown for the first time at the international boat show Boot Düsseldorf on 20-28 January 2024. Nimbus Group wants to offer Alukin's boats in more geographical locations in Europe, and as part of this, three models are presented that represent Alukin's wide range of applications.
Alukin aluminium boats have won the hearts of many active boating enthusiasts in the Nordic countries and not least in Canada. Nimbus Group is now presenting Alukin's boats for the first time at Boot Düsseldorf, in order to reach a broader geographic market with fully welded aluminum boats for leisure and professional use.
Alukin's boats have a wide range of applications and are built for people in need of durable boats that are easy to maintain. The boats are adapted for an active boating life all year round and are used for commuting and for various leisure activities such as sport fishing, hunting, and diving. In commercial contexts, the boats are used by police authorities, the military and in various crafts with varying activities in coastal areas. The boats are fully welded in aluminum and are built in Finland.
More about Alukin aluminum boats
Durability and longevity
The life cycle of a fully welded aluminum boat is long, and under the right conditions, the boat can be passed down for generations. The material used in Alukin's boats has the strongest alloy (AW EN 5083) for marine use. Not only is it a material that can withstand rough handling, but it is also a good choice for the environment. Aluminum is one of the most valuable materials to recycle and can be 100% recycled without the metal losing any of its natural properties. Not only does this reduce the amount of waste, but it also helps to save energy compared to exploiting and extracting new raw materials. By recycling aluminum, approximately 95% of the energy required to produce virgin metal is saved. About 75% of the world's aluminum in circulation from the last decade is part of a circular cycle, where the metal can be recycled repeatedly.
All Alukin boats use anti-slip materials and fender strips made of recycled rubber.
The Strength of Fully Welded Aluminum Boats
In Alukin's boats, the entire hull is fully welded, and large dimensions are used on pipes, targa arch and railings. In combination with Alukin's hull design, this provides unbeatable strength and stability throughout the speed range. The cabin and hull are welded together to one piece, which makes the boat extremely torsionally rigid and resistant to the forces of the weather in the harshest environments. All parts are welded from the inside and outside and in combination with Alukin's hull construction, it gives a strength where the proof lies in the stability and feeling that appears throughout the speed range. Many of Alukin's boats are used for commercial purposes where it is important that the boats can withstand harsh conditions and rough handling 365 days a year.
The boats are built in 5 mm aluminum at the bottom and 100 mm keel stock/keel iron. The hulls are filled with air cushions as a buoyancy material and equipped with sound-absorbing insulation material that provides pleasant sound comfort at all speeds.
Minimal maintenance
Alukin's boats are treated with a unique environmentally neutral surface treatment patented and developed specifically for Alukin. SEAL-1 is a chemically bonded surface passivation that takes care of the free ions in aluminum that form oxides. It is a chemical process that protects the surface like a shield against salt water and UV rays and prevents dirt and corrosive substances from adhering to the boat. The chemical bond is environmentally neutral, and the surface cannot be flaked or washed off. Through Alukin's unique surface treatment, it is easier to keep the boat clean, the life of the aluminum is increased, and the treatment enhances the material's properties. Clean water and a gentle detergent go a long way in keeping the boat clean and in many cases the boats benefit from not being bottom painted.
